Shift from 'what I know' to 'what I can do'
Knowledge sitting in your head is invisible. The moment you use it to build, fix or improve something, it becomes a demonstrable skill. Start asking 'what can I make with this?' instead of just 'will this be on the test?'.
Find a real, small problem
You don't need a world-changing idea. Pick a real annoyance — a shop that loses track of orders, a club that can't schedule members, a repetitive task you do by hand — and solve it. Small, real and finished beats big and imaginary.
Build the simplest version that works
Solve the core of the problem first with the simplest tool you can — a spreadsheet flow, a short script in CodeComet, a clear plan. A rough thing that works teaches you more, and impresses more, than a perfect thing that never ships.
Explain your thinking, not just the result
The most hireable trait is how you think. When you share your solution, show the problem, the options you considered and why you chose your approach. That reasoning is what businesses are really buying.
